Vaccinations

As prevention is better than cure, we recommend your pet is fully vaccinated. We offer a comprehensive vaccination programme for dogs, cats and rabbits. This includes a full health check with a Veterinary Surgeon for all pets having vaccines. This enables any queries you may have about your pet’s health to be discussed. If you should have any concerns regarding vaccinations please feel free to discuss these with us. There has been a recent study in dogs (POOCH performed by the world renowned Animal Health Trust) where the health records of 4000 dogs were studied and there was no evidence that any ill-health was caused by vaccinations. In fact, dogs that were regularly vaccinated were healthier than dogs that had not been vaccinated or whose vaccines had lapsed.

Repeat prescriptions

To avoid delays at busy times, please telephone at least 24 hours in advance when ordering repeat prescriptions. In accordance with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recommendations there is a legal requirement to re-examine all pets receiving prescription medicines on a regular basis to assess progress of the disease which is being treated, to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment and to determine if there are any side effects developing. Typically for most medicines we will re-examine pets at least every 3-4 months. In more severe diseases the level of re-examination may be increased. You will be informed when the veterinary surgeon would like to re-examine your pet.
