I qualified in Dublin and have dedicated the last 25 years to several aspects of veterinary nursing including teaching and examining student nurses and work in referral centres. I enjoy all aspects of general practice, especially the contact with the pets and their owners during consultations. I married Simon in 2002 and we have a fun filled, sometimes noisy houseful! Getta, our eldest has a minature daxi, “Matilda”, and Conor is the proud owner of B.J. (Beverly-Jane, don’t ask!) a cat with a deformed leg that still catches butterflies! The fish are Simon’s responsibility and our toddler Georgia thinks she owns the lot.
As Senior Clinical Nurse I strive to ensure all clinical areas are at the highest possible standards and that student nurses receive top quality training with state of the art facilities and experienced staff at hand.

I joined the Feldon team in 2006 and took on the role of Senior Surgical Nurse in 2007. I started nursing in 1991 but it was obvious, early on, I was no ordinary nurse - I could grow a beard! Male nurses in those days were as rare as rocking horse doo doo. It was an adventure to be accepted and handy to have more physical strength for the heavy lifting of patients and restraint of the not so friendly furries. I was then head hunted by some friends to join their practice and start my nurse training.
I can honestly say that two of my proudest moments in life were passing my kick boxing - black belt - coaching exam and getting those two little letters after my name: VN. I, like other VNs around the globe, strive to give our patients the very best care possible. All of the staff at Feldon hold the same high standard of care that I do and it is this total team effort which makes Feldon different.
I am now, after 16 years, a 2nd degree blackbelt kickboxer, a female self defence instructor, a poet, a fantasy and sci-fi enthusiast, an American sports addict, an insomniac and an animal lover with five rescued cats (perk of the job!). I live with the adorable Jane, my partner of 17 years, and hope that Feldon will be my final stop unless either Calgary or the Seattle Seahawks come calling!!
