Are you bored with this lovely British summer so far?
After a few warm days in May normal service resumes for our weather here in the UK and, like many others, you are probably considering where you can go to catch some sunshine this summer.
If you’re taking your pet abroad, don’t forget to make sure that their passport is up to date and they have had all the vaccinations they need to travel. If you’re travelling within the EU your pet will need a tapeworm treatment 1-5 days before coming back to the UK so don’t forget to locate a vet before you travel home. Some areas of the EU have different risks to your pet’s health than the UK so ask us for advice. You can click here for more information on regulations and advice.
If you’re taking your pet on holiday in the UK it is often a good idea to locate a vet in the area that you’re visiting, just in case of emergencies. It is also a good idea to make sure that their flea and worming treatment is up to date.
Reputable kennels, catteries and pet sitters will ask for evidence of your pet’s vaccinations before confirming their stay; you can do this by checking their vaccination card or giving your local surgery a call. If you can’t find your vaccination card we can get another one for you, just ask one of our Reception staff.
All of our staff here at Feldon are able to help you with travel enquiries, simply call us with any questions you have.
