Congratulation to Georgina Hawkins who is based at our Kenilworth surgery on achieving her GP Certificate in Ophthalmology.
This has involved study, writing case reports, seeing practice with a specialist and a final exam spread over 18 months. Georgina is now happy to see cases from other branches which are proving challenging for example, non healing ulcers, challenging dry eyes, basic entropions, 3rd eyelid issues and others. At Kenilworth she has access to special equipment including a slit lamp, tonometer, diamond burr and bandage contact lenses.
Within Feldon Veterinary Centre we also have two other vets, Mark and Katie, who have completed the Improve Ophthalmology course and still have a keen interest in eyes. We are also lucky to have the assistance of Christine Heinrich from the Eye Veterinary Clinic, and her expertise would still be needed for complex cases or anything where intraocular surgery is a consideration as well as BVA/KC/ISDA eye testing including gonioscopy and litter screening. More information about Christine’s satellite clinics at our Kenilworth surgery can be found here.
