Our Leamington surgery is once again holding a pet blood donation session for dogs across Warwickshire in conjunction with national charity Pet Blood Bank. Come and join us on Sunday 15th October and help save the lives of other dogs across the UK.
If your dog is aged 1-8, fit and healthy, weighs over 25kg, is not on any medication, is fully vaccinated, hasn’t travelled abroad and has a good temperament then we need your help. Just one unit of blood can save the lives of up to four dogs and it only takes up to ten minutes to donate. All dogs are checked by a vet prior to donation to ensure that they are well enough to donate, and they receive a goody bag, some tasty treats and a very trendy bandana to show off to their pals. Jasper, pictured above, is one of our previous donors.
If you have a Dobermann, Greyhound, Boxer, German Shepherd, Flat-Coated Retriever, Airedale Terrier, Weimaraner, Lurcher, American Bulldog, English Pointer or English Bull Terriers then we are calling out to you especially. These breeds of dogs tend to have a specific blood type which is in short supply. So tell your friends and ask them to visit the Pet Blood Bank website for more information or get them to give us a call on 01926 423161.
You don’t have to be registered at our vets to take part, just as long as your dog fits the criteria above we can get you in touch with the charity and help your dog to help save lives.
