Veterinary Nurses hold practices together – without them our vets would not be able to operate at the level that they do. From assisting with procedures, monitoring anaesthetics and providing healthcare advice, to the interminable and unending cleaning tasks, their work is genuinely never done. And always carried out with pride, care and a smile. So, nominate your practice nurses in this year’s Petplan Awards and give them the recognition they so deserve.
This is Louise Want our Nurse Manager, who was awarded Vet Nurse of the Year in 2010 at the Petplan Awards. Coincidentally, this was the same year that Louise celebrated 30 years since embarking on her career so it was an especially poignant accolade. Louise has had many guises since qualifying as a nurse including being an RCVS examiner, a lecturer and a clinical coach to student nurses.
Her current role here involves a lot of administration which takes her away from front line care but she is always on hand ready to step in when required. And of course if there’s a cute puppy or kitten she’s bound to pull rank and demand the first cuddles!
If you’ve had an exceptional experience with one of our nurses then please nominate them now and share the recognition industry-wide. They are exceptional members of staff who continually work hard to support you, your pets and our vets.
